The fourth of Preston’s live literature nights, Wordsoup, will be taking place on Tuesday 28th July 2009 from 8 PM at the New Continental arts space on Broadgate.
The event forms part of the Preston Tringe Festival and the theme for the evening is ‘booze’. It’s £3 on the door.
The night will be hosted by Preston author, Jenn Ashworth (A Kind of Intimacy), and guest authors and speakers include Nicholas Royle (The Appetite), Mollie Baxter (pictured) (short stories), Richard Hirst (I Thought I Told You To Wait In The Car), Simon Baker (Spotlight Club), Richard Hulse (short fiction) and Tim Woodall (HIV: The Musical).
There are also three open mic night spots during the evening, so if you’ve been scribbling away and think it links to booze then get down there and show off your stuff.
Sally Murray, from Manchester, will be providing from musical interludes throughout the night while the authors find the right pages in their books.
The event is organised by Preston Writing Network, which aims to support all forms of writing in the city.
