Christmas fashion competition at Preston art gallery
Preston’s PAD Gallery is on the hunt for the city’s best fashion talent as it looks to create a unique Christmas range.
The competition is a chance for buddying designers to create a one-off piece of clothing that will sell in the gallery’s shop.
The clothing must be designed for either of these markets:
The 40+ lovely lady, who will spend up to £80 on a classic but stylish garment. It has to be well cut, and be interesting in terms of fabric, shape, texture etc, but must not be too way out.
The 18 – 30 something funky young thing about town, male or female, this customer wants something quirky and different, but will probably only pay up to £40 for it. In terms of design, think print, think bold, think colourful, think quirky, think stand out packaging…just be creative.
The garments must be made and submitted by Friday 4th December 2009. Please include the cost of producing the price, your name, address and the recommended retail price.
The items will be on sale in the PAD Gallery on Market Street from Tuesday 8th December 2009.
If you have any queries contact the team at PAD on 01772 903471, or email pad@preston.gov.uk
