Preston’s Christmas lights switch on
The Christmas lights will be switched at a ceremony on Preston’s Flag Market on Saturday 21st November 2009.
From 2 PM there will be competitions and giveaways and from 4 PM the main show starts with Real Radio’s Drive Time Presenters hosting a plethora of errr, celebrities?
Jamie Archer of X-Factor fame will be turning the lights themselves on as well as signing. Laura White who was in X Factor last year (yes, we’d already forgotten as well) will be signing live and Hollie Steele, the singing/dancing 10-year-old from Britain’s Got Talent, will also be there.
Local talent, Mike Dignam, is a singer song writer from Preston and he’ll be up on stage at some point. There will also be the Shelle’s Belles street dancers, Aquablakk and Sally Jaxx (who was in Buck’s Fizz, if anyone watched Eurovision in the 80s you’ll know who she is!).
The Christmas lights (the real stars of the show) will be turned on a 5.30 PM and fireworks will signal the end of the ceremony. We are also led to believe that Santa himself will be making an appearance.

I have to say that’s a poor bunch of people they’ve got turning the lights on, they need a local figure like Freddy Flintoff
You won’t be dissappointed when you see us! We have a 4 track live performance lined up for you. We did St Helens last week to 5000 crowd!!! Check out http://www.aquablakk.co.uk see you Saturday!!
