Winter Wonderland
Braved the black ice on our doorstep and ventured onto Haslam Park for what turned out to be a glorious day frolicking in the snow!
Preston must have the some of the best parks in the country, whenever I have friends to visit we always head to Avenham or Haslam Park for an afternoon and they never disappoint. Today was no exception. The dazzling sunlight hitting the snow covered grass was stunning, it really did look like a winter wonderland.
We left a gift of twigs by the fairy door, threw snowballs and headed on down to the duck pond which was covered in thick ice, whilst the ducks weren’t impressed some local school children certainlywere! We crunched on through the snow, past the waterfall and onto the only thawed corner of the pond to be met by an army of hungry ducks and a brave swan.

On round the park to throw pooh sticks off the bridge and to the magical twisty tree, it looked amazing against the sunlight.

Such a lovely afternoon, I felt proud to live in a town with such gorgeous parkspace and everyone felt much better for leaving the confines of a centrally heated house. After a good stroll around we left the dog walkers to it and went for a warming hot chocolate in a nearby cafe.
