PNE have earned 10 points from their last five games while tonight’s hosts have won only one of the last 13 and are in relegation trouble themselves.

A month ago Doncaster looked almost safe but after a poor run of form they sit 20th in the table and North End will be hoping to drag them into a relegation battle.

Sean St. Ledger, Leon Cort and David Gray are all out injured for the visitors meaning that Barry Nicholson may play right back for the third game in a row.

Amine Linganzi is also out but Chris Brown may return to the starting line up after a three game absence.

Phil Brown could put the returning forward on the bench and stick with a 4-5-1 formation leaving the red hot Iain Hume up front on his own.

For Doncaster Joseph Mills, James Chambers and top scorer Billy Sharp are all unavailable through injury.

Doncaster’s star man may well be midfielder Brian Stock. The former PNE man has a great eye for a pass and would love to come back to haunt his former club tonight.

The two sides met at Deepdale on the first day of the season. The game proved a sign of things to come as 10 man Doncaster comfortably won 2-0.

If Rovers match that result tonight it will be the first time they have done the double over North End since 1988.

Doncaster have the joint best disciplinary record in the Championship with 43 yellow and three red cards. PNE on the other hand have the worst record with 78 yellows and three reds so you know North End won’t go down without a fight.

Join us for live coverage at 7.45pm to see if PNE can continue their charge towards the Great Escape.
