Preston council services Christmas and New Year opening times

Preston City Council begin their shutdown for the Christmas holidays from 2pm tomorrow.

All council offices close at 2pm on Friday 23rd December and will not re-open until Tuesday 3rd January.

Here we have a run down of what is open and what isn’t over the holiday period.

Fulwood and West View Leisure Centres

Fulwood
Christmas Eve – 8am to 12noon
Christmas Day – Closed
Boxing Day – Closed
Tuesday 27th December – 7am to 4pm
Wednesday 28th December – 7am to 4pm
Thursday 29th December – 7am to 4pm
Friday 30th December – 7am to 4pm
New Years Eve – Closed
New Years Day – Closed
Monday 2nd January – 6.30am to 10pm

West View
Christmas Eve – Closed
Christmas Day – Closed
Boxing Day – Closed
Tuesday 27th December – 11am to 4pm
Wednesday 28th December – 11am to 4pm
Thursday 29th December – 11am to 4pm
Friday 30th December – 11am to 4pm
New Years Eve – 8am to 3pm
New Years Day – Closed
Monday 2nd January – Closed

Preston Market
Christmas Eve – Closes at 4pm
Christmas Day – Closed
Boxing Day – Closed
Tuesday 27th December – Closed
Wednesday 28th December – 8am to 5pm
Thursday 29th December – 8am to 5pm
Friday 30th December – 8am to 5pm
New Years Eve – 8am to 4pm
New Years Day – Closed
Monday 2nd January – Closed

Bin collections

Households who have their recycling or food waste collected on a Monday or Tuesday will be affected. Leaflets have been posted to relevant households or they can view the council website for details about their collections.

All brown bin compost collections stopped on Friday 16th December and do not resume until Monday 16th January 2012.

Their website lists pharmacy opening hours and how to contact a GP when local surgeries are closed.
