The festival will include the return of the Lancashire Market and a live cooking night with top TV chef Gino D’Acampo at the Guild Hall.

Local restaurant owners are backing the campaign to get more people eating out locally.

Andrea Mellon, owner of Duk in the city centre, said: “Preston has a first-class offering when it comes to fine dining and we’re really pleased to be part of this campaign. Our customers appreciate fine food and food service, and Preston delivers on both levels.”

The Love Food, Love Preston events are organised by the Preston Business Improvement District – which aims to promote the business in the city centre.

A full list of events for the festival will be announced soon.
