Cyclists get ready to try out the Wheel route

It’s been a few years in the making but the Guild Wheel was officially opened in a special ceremony on Avenham Park.

The Park marks the start and end of the 21-mile route around the city limits that winds its way from the canal to Ribbleton’s industrial estate.

Our man Tony Worrall was down there to snap the cutting of the ribbon and the first cyclists to set off on the loop.

Paul Melling was also down at the finish line to catch many happy cyclists crossing it.
