This picture, in my opinion, doesn't really show what the Guild Wheel is actually like. I've ridden it a few times, and I'd like to say I was a keen cyclist but I do honestly believe that this awesome council that we have in Preston, have no idea what surface to actually put down on certain sections of it.

How can a team of people who design a cycle route, think that loose shale and gravel is the best surface to ride a bike on? The section of the wheel that runs straight through Avenham Park is the worst surface to ride a bicycle on... why can't it be nice and smooth like this picture shows?
They're trying to get cyclists out and about on the Guild Wheel because it's been a massive spend and don't want to see it flop like most things in Preston, yet they're making it difficult to actually ride it?
I wish it had been done a lot better than it has, the Guild Wheel had the potential to be something incredible!
