Preston Christmas Lights Switch-on: Russell Watson and Matt Cardle to headline city show

The line-up for Preston’s Christmas Lights Switch-On can now be revealed.

Platinum-selling classical artist Russell Watson and X Factor 2010 winner Matt Carde will headline the show on the Flag Market.

The lights will be switched on from 3.30pm on Saturday 17 November and organisers are hailing the line-up as one of the best.

Mark Whittle from the Preston Business Improvement District said: “We’re thrilled to be working with Real Radio once again to produce Preston’s Christmas Lights Switch On, an event that gets better with every year.

“The Switch On is now firmly established in the city’s annual events calendar and over recent years has doubled in size. We’re looking forward to welcoming people from right across the region into the city as we officially launch Christmas 2012 in spectacular style.”

Also on the line-up will be folk rockers Honey Rider, boybands FTW and Forbidden Juice.

Be Minor, from Britain’s Got Talent, Nicole Tamer, Thomas Teago, R3action and Reconnected and singer-songwriter Nick Evans.

Presenters of the Real Radio Breakfast show Sam and Lorna will be hosting the event.
