Preston City Council have announced the City Games 2013.
The games are a legacy of the successful UK Corporate games, hosted in Preston last July during Preston Guild year and should take place on Saturday 8th June.
This year the council are looking for businesses to participate in the one day sporting festival with the aim of building the event in future years. They will be aided by Shout Network, who will be helping with the launch and working with the council throughout the event.
Currently scheduled on the mini-festival programme are Table Tennis, Badminton, Netball, Running, Basketball, Hockey, Rounder’s, Touch Rugby and 5 a-side-football. They hope to add further favourite sports for future games. No dragon boat racing this year. Well, not yet anyway!
Similar to the UK Corporate games, the venues for the sporting activities will be the UCLan Sports Arena at Cottam and the Sir Tom Finney Sports Centre on the UCLan campus.
There will be an official launch on 7 March 2013 at Westleigh Conference Centre which will be a free event open to all local businesses.
A free networking event is also arranged around the launch for your business and early registration is recommended as places are limited.
