Volunteers are being sought to help document the history of a war memorial in Preston.
Researchers at the Museum of Lancashire want to explore the stories of the men named on the St Mary’s Church war memorial.
The memorial, now in the Lancashire Conservation Studios, used to stand on Stanley Street in the city.
Charlotte Steels, Lancashire County Council’s manager at Museum of Lancashire, said: “We are looking for volunteers with an interest in local or family history to get involved with the project.
“People don’t need to have any research experience, as training will be provided, but will need to have the time available now to start taking part.
“The aim of the project is to ! produce an exhibition, based on the findings of the research, in the People Gallery at the MoL in 2015.”
The research is part of the Preston Remembers project.
