Sir Tom Finney death: PNE fans begin tributes to footballing legend

Preston North End fans have begun paying their respects at Deepdale to Sir Tom Finney.

On hearing the news of Sir Tom Finney’s passing, which broke around 10pm, PNE fans took club scarves and flowers down to the ground.

Finney is remembered forever in the famous statue The Splash which stands at the front of the ground.

Sir Tom is now covered in the blue and white of North End, and messages stating “Legend” have been pinned outside the ground.

Hollie Newton was one of those who went down and took these pictures showing the tributes already paid.

Deepdale is expected to be packed for the game against Leyton Orient as North End fans come to say goodbye to Sir Tom.
