Preston North End fans are being asked to dust off their bowler hats once again for Gentry Day.
AdvertisementThe annual fixture, once again away at Brentford, aims to show just why North End fans are the best in the leagues.
The day was restarted by the Preston Supporters Group in 2008 after a one-off event in 2005 to remember PNE fan John Tracey.
A trip to Griffin Park on Friday 18 April with North End in the promotion hunt is hopefully a perfect opportunity for Preston fans to celebrate.
John Kelly from the Preston Supporters Group said: “We appreciate that with it being on Good Friday and the distance of the fixture it may not be ideal for everyone. Due to the way the fixtures have fallen and following advice given to us, a number of other options had to be ruled out.
“We are sure that all supporters appreciate the significance of the day and will support it, even if this match would not have been your first choice.
“We hope you will agree the best Gentry Days have been in London, and we hope that this one could be extra special this year as the promotion charge continues.”
The Supporters Group said with Sir Tom Finney’s passing they were determined to make it the best Gentry Day yet.
