It’s almost here. Preston’s 40th Anniversary Caribbean Carnival 2014.
The annual festival of colour and sound celebrating the Caribbean community of the city takes place on Sunday 29 June.
Preston City Council let the carnival organisers use Moor Park, where the Carnival procession begins, waiving the usage fee.
For those who haven’t seen the flyers, this is the Carnival route on Sunday:
1 – The procession starts 12pm at Moor Park Avenue
2 – Down Deepdale Road
3 – Cross A6 Ring Way on to Church Street
4 – Turn right on to Cheapside and onto the Flag Market stopping for a dance performance
5 – Proceed on to Friargate to A59 Ring Way
6 – Cross A59 onto Friargate
7 – To Adelphi Quater roundabout
8 – Cross on to A5071 Moor Lane join A6 Garstang Road
9 – Turn right into Moor Park Avenue to finish off the day.
London artists, Lutenants will be performing on stage as a headlining act from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.
