The fire was believed to have been started deliberately. It occurred around 5am on Saturday 14 June 2014.

Police do not think the individuals within the group started the fire. They say they were in the area of the Popworld bar on Church Street prior to going to Grimshaw Street.

DC Kate Clancy from Preston CID said: “Whilst we don’t think that the group were responsible for causing the fire, we do think that they may be able to provide important information to assist us in our inquiries.

“I would encourage anyone with information to contact us. The men on the CCTV are not suspected of any offences.”

Police also say a 42-year-old Preston woman was arrested on Friday 20 June on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life but was released on bail pending further enquiries until Friday 8 August.
