Inspiral Carpets are back making music together
What could be the final show at 53 Degrees has been announced.
Indie rockers Inspiral Carpets have announced they will headline the venue on Sunday 21 December.
The Inspirals have announced their first studio album in 20 years will come out this year, after Stephen Holt their original singer returned in 2011.
Guitarist Graham Lambert said: “Since 2011, we’ve steadied the ship and we’re sailing on.
“It’s been a breath of fresh air creating new songs with Stephen – his input has given us a fresh impetus.
“There was no sane logic why we didn’t do it a decade ago. Getting home from rehearsals and playing back a new song in the middle of the night is such a thrill. A new album seemed impossible a couple of years ago: now it’s a reality.”
The Inspirals keyboard player and XFM DJ Clint Boon has often DJ’d at 53.
Tickets go on sale today and details can be found on the 53 Degrees website or call Seetickets on 0871 220 0260.
53 Degrees announced in June it would be closing its doors to the public due to the financial situation at the University of Central Lancashire Students’ Union, who said the venue had become unsustainable.
