Preston Korfball Club host their first tournament

Korfball came to Preston in the last few days with the club hosting their first tournament.

It took place in Freckleton and saw Preston Korfball Club compete against teams from across the North West.

Preston unfortunately couldn’t win their own tournament, with Manchester Warriors the victors – beating Manchester City in the final.

The tournament was blessed with blazing sunshine. Korfball was started in the Netherlands more than 100 years ago.

It’s a fast-paced game with elements of netball involved.

Preston’s Korfball team are taking in new members and are in the process of becoming a league team.

They play at Christ the King High School from 7pm every Tuesday.
