An event offering free activities for youngsters across the city during the school holidays has seen record take up.
AdvertisementPark It saw more than 2,000 people attend throughout August as four Preston parks hosted events.
Free sports sessions were offered during Friday evenings in Ribbleton Park, Dovedale Park, Ashton Park and Moor Park.
Preston City Council say 2,140 youngsters and parents signed up and came along.
Cabinet member for culture and leisure services, councillor Veronica Afrin, said: “These free Park It events have been great for the people of Preston.
“They have provided a chance to try some every day sports and some very different sports in a safe environment.
“They have been getting people active and provided a chance to further peoples’ understanding about healthy eating. I would like to thank all the partners involved in this year’s Park It events and for the funding.”
