Last year, Lancashire Archives put on a projected slideshow on to the side of the Archives building in Bow Lane, Preston for the national ‘Explore Your Archive’ campaign. Again, this year a similar projection event will take place, only this time one of the themes will be ‘Sport in the Archives’.
AdvertisementAs in 2013, the historical images projected onto the wall of the building will be able to be seen across Preston and most significantly can be seen by passengers of trains going in and out of Preston Railway Station.
As part of this year’s campaign, there will be a talk by David Hunt on Preston North End FC and its origins on the same street as the Record Office. It follows the team’s journey to become football’s first “Invincibles”. The talk will be supported by an exhibition of sporting archives and an art projection onto the building.
The event will take place on Tuesday 11 November 2014. 6.30-7.30pm Lancashire Archives, Lancashire Record Office, Bow Lane, Preston, Lancashire PR1 2RE
