Temperatures are expected to plummet once again overnight as ice covers the roads around Preston.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning of ice and is warning drivers to take care.
Forecasters say “potentially treacherous driving conditions” are a risk for drivers.
The chief forecaster says: “Showers will become less frequent and wintry than of late, tending to clear late in the night. This will allow road surface temperatures to fall over wet roads and pavements, giving the risk of ice.”
The weather alert is valid until 12noon on Sunday.
Overnight it could fall to minus FOUR and only climb to three degrees.
The big chill is set to continue into Monday with temperatures barely getting above freezing – although it is due to be sunny all day.
