Preston weather warning: New Year’s Day gales and lashing rain

Rain over St Marks
The Met Office has issued a weather warning of heavy wind and rain in Preston and Lancashire throughout New Year’s Day.
AdvertisementDriven by strong southwesterly winds the bad weather is set to pass quickly across the city and surrounding area.
The weather warning is in place until 11.50pm on Thursday 1 January.
Forecasters say the public “should be aware of the risk of some disruption due to strong winds and rain”.
