Valentine’s Day is looming ominously on the horizon and if you’ve not already gotten yourself organised, then now is the time.
AdvertisementMany will be dining out this coming weekend as Valentine’s Day lands conveniently on a Saturday, making the weekend ideal for couples.
Here’s the five restaurants that we think you need to be trying this weekend.
1. Face Chinese Restaurant
Since opening in 2013, FaceĀ on Guild Hall StreetĀ has swiftly taken the crown as Preston’s finest Chinese restaurant. Customer reviews range from very good to excellent. If you’re a lover of this particular type of food and haven’t tried Face yet, this should be in your plans at the weekend.
2. The Silk Route
We wrote a few weeks ago about how East Z East is lacking in any real competition in the city centre. A trip down to the docks to The Silk Route then, could be your best bet. The Silk Route is still relatively new to the area but, like Face, has already carved itself a formidable reputation. Any points lost for not being in the city centre are quickly regained through the food and attention to detail.
3. Fusion Room
Getting quality British food has become something of a conundrum. We tend to favour Italian, Chinese and Indian cuisine when it comes to eating out properly. Perhaps that’s something to do with the “2 for Ā£9” style meal deals associated with standard British food. What that means is that gorgeous food like Fusion can often be overlooked, so don’t let that happen and give them a try.
Ā 4. Olive Tree BrasserieĀ
Another new addition to Preston is the Olive Tree Brasserie inside Miller Arcade. Early signs from the Greek restaurant have been very promising and it has a great atmosphere thanks to the open plan design.
5. Mundo Tapas
You can probably see a pattern emerging as we select yet another restaurant new to Preston. It’s been a good few years for the city in that respect. Mundo Tapas is part of the newly-rejuvenated Guild Hall and if tapas is something you’ve never tried before, there’s no better time than now.
