A giant office block in Fishwick could become a major new housing development.
AdvertisementGo Developments have given prior notification of the change of the London House building to become flats.
Just off New Hall Lane on Adelaide Street the building is next to the government offices on Primrose Hill.
Lancashire Police have raised concerns about introducing such a large residential development into the area.
A letter from Rachel Emmett, architectural liaison officer, said the building must be completed to have high security standards due to problems with anti-social behaviour in the area.
It outlines how 309 nuisance incidents have been reported in the last 12 months including youths shouting, swearing, smashing bottles and youths kicking a car. The area has also seen sex workers stood in the road under the influence of drink or drugs.
38 reported burglaries have taken places in the areas surrounding this site.
Full plans have not been submitted for the site but the public are being invited to submit their comments via the council website.
Anyone wishing to comment can do so by emailing devcon@preston.gov.uk by Sunday 22 February.
