Following the success from their Easter event last year, the Friends of Highgate Wood are holding their annual Easter Egg Hunt event this year on Easter Saturday 4th April; all will be welcome to join in the fun in the fabulous natural surroundings in this little woodland gem in Fulwood, Preston.
The Highgate Wood project originated from the idea of a few local residents who wanted to see the woodland area developed into a place where people could visit and enjoy the nature and wildlife which exists there. A group was formed and became known as ‘The Friends of Highgate Wood’ in 2011. Since then, the wood has gone from strength to strength in becoming a popular retreat for people to wander around and take in a breath of fresh air and enjoy the pleasant ethos of this natural oasis.
The aim of the Friends of Highgate Wood is to promote the conservation and enhancement of the wood for the benefit of residents, visitors and wildlife and to encourage and facilitate greater use and enjoyment by all.
