A proposal which will see a new nursery and childcare facilities being built, could transform Lightfoot Lane in Fulwood.

The plans which have been put forward by a leading independent school and have yet to be passed through Preston City Council, but they could see the current grazing land hosting a 44-place nursery.

This plan will take the first of two development stages, with the second involving expanding this further onto the main road, to cater for 120 children.

Current plans suggest this development will have no impact on users of Lightfoot Lane, and owners of the land have already transformed Myerscough College and opened a new nursery in Walton-le-Dale at the old site of the Bridge Inn.

The applicants say the new proposals will serve the residents in the area, and benefit the new housing developments which are also planned for the area.
