A teenager was robbed and assaulted in an unprovoked attack in Preston on Wednesday.
AdvertisementPreston Police say a 17-year-old boy was walking up some stairs adjacent to Preston Cricket Club between South Meadow Lane and West Cliff betwee 8.15am and 8.30am.
A man was coming down the stairs and demanded the boy empty his pockets.
The boy refused and was then punched above his right eyebrow using a small metallic object between his knuckles. The boy was taken kicked in the ribs.
A small quantity of cash was taken before the man ran back up the steps onto West Cliff.
DC Steve Butler from Preston CID said: “This was an unprovoked attack on a young man who has been left understandably anxious and physically injured after this ordeal.
“If anyone has any information about this incident at all, I would urge them to get in contact with us.”
The offender is described as a white male with hair growth to his throat but not the rest of his chin. He was wearing a black hooded jumper with the hood up, black tracksuit bottoms with two white lines and red astro type football trainers.
