The weather is expected to be dry and sunny for egg-rolling at Avenham Park on Easter Monday.
AdvertisementPoor weather in Preston over the last week has resulted in the site becoming heavily waterlogged.
However, the good news is that we can currently expect better way on the day itself.
A further boost came as the council confirmed the event would continue regardless of weather.
Matthew Kelly, head of parks and open spaces at Preston Council, said: “Egg rolling is a great tradition in Preston.
“In past years during really bad weather when the event was cancelled, the public turned up anyway to roll their eggs – the rain won’t stop hardy Prestonians.”
The event will be from 11am until 4pm and is expected to draw thousands to Avenham Park.
