Police in Preston are appealing for information after a woman was robbed and assaulted in the city centre on Sunday.
AdvertisementThe 45-year-old victim was sat alone on a bench at the disused taxi rank in Lords Walk near Preston Bus Station.
She was approached by a man at around 11.30pm who attempted to steal her mobile phone.
He then proceeded to punch her in the face and stole her bag.
DC 1266 Azam Khan said: “This was a terrifying experience for the victim, we are determined to find the person responsible and urge anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have seen the offender in the area at the time to contact us.”
The offender is described as white, in his early twenties, with short fair hair and a long slim face. He was wearing a long sleeved sweatshirt with and a top with a white collar underneath.
