Pupils from a Fulwood school have sealed their place in this year’s county-wide sporting finals.
AdvertisementLongsands Community School beat 12 other schools in Preston at high five netball and now progress to the SPAR Lancashire School Games.
They beat Harris Primary School 3-1 in the final of the Preston heats.
Dean Brandwood, Preston school games organiser, said: “The annual high five netball county finals qualifier is one of Preston’s most competitive events and once again it didn’t disappoint with some very close games.
“Many thanks to Preston Netball Club which came out in force with its young umpires ensuring a fair event. It is the support of these local clubs which allows us to provide high quality competitive sporting events for young people across Preston.”
The county finals take place in Blackpool on June 30 and will see more than 2,000 pupils compete in sports including gymnantics, handball, netball, rounders, athletics, tennis and tag rugby.
