Michael Portillo ahead of his seventh series of Great British Railway Journeys

British journalist and broadcaster Michael Portillo has been filming in Preston as part of a BBC Documentary series.

Great British Railway Journeys airs on BBC Two and sees Portillo travelling across the country by train. The series brought them to Preston, and saw some filming taking place on the market and the train station.

The show began it’s sixth series this January and filming is now underway for its seventh series which will be shown early next year. It premiered in 2010 and each episode has a run time of 30 minutes. Episodes can be watched using BBC iPlayer. For more information on the show, visit the webpage here.
