Another mortar has been found in a field near Avenham Park in Preston.

Preston Police were on the scene from around 6.30pm on Saturday after reports of another military mortar had been found.

The public had been asked to avoid the area.

A controlled explosion was not needed as it turned out to be a “harmless grenade” according to police.
