It’s your last chance to enter this year’s Race for Life in Preston as applications close in just under two weeks.
Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life, in partnership with Tesco, sees women across the country participate in a fundraising run of 5K or 10K and Preston is hosting one at Moor Park on Sunday May 24.
Applications close on May 22 and over 900 women have already joined “the pink army” to participate in the fundraising race.
In 2014, £110,000 was raised for Cancer Research UK with 900 women taking part in Preston’s event and organisers hope to raise an additional £94,000 this year. The money raised goes towards the charity to help with research in doctors, nurses and scientists so more people can survive cancer.
Rhian Coathup, Event Manager for Preston’s Race for Life said they are thrilled with the turnout but are keen to fill up empty spaces, “Race for Life is not competitive and it’s not about being fit or fast. You can walk, jog, or run around the course if you like. Because these events are all about the feel-good factor that comes from being part of the ‘pink army’ as thousands of women come together to defeat cancer.”
Each participant will receive an entry pack and gift aid donation form, and anyone wishing to sign up can do so by visiting the website here or calling 03001230770.
