A community magazine has been handed a six month reprieve to cover its costs.
AdvertisementThe Broadgate Magazine reaches about 4,000 people a month across the area by the River Ribble in Preston providing updates on events and information in the area.
County councillor Yousuf Motala has signed off £300 from his Lancashire County Council grants pot to support the magazine.
A statement from the magazine said: “We are losing about £30 to £50 per month at present so the £300 would cover us over six months if we don’t get any more advertisers.
“We are simply a local magazine informing the residents of the Broadgate PACT area of what is going on and keeping them in touch with local happenings.”
Each county councillor gets £2,000 a year to give to local community groups and causes.
This is the second time the magazine has been helped out by the county councillor grants, it received £250 from county councillor Motala in October 2014.
