The controversial Macs Bar was stripped of its licence today by Preston City Council.

The bar, with some of the lowest prices in Preston, is one of the most popular in the city.

However a number of issues regarding punters dispersing, underage customers and the irresponsible retailing of alcohol have resulted in the current decision.

You can read the reaction from Andy Macdonald, owner of Macs Bar, and Preston Police here.

The response, as usual concerning the bar, has been mixed on social media.

Some are happy with the decision while others are distraught at the news.

Many have noted that underage users of social media expressing their unhappiness has probably done the venue no favours.
