A pop up art installation is coming to Preston city centre during the coming days.
AdvertisementThe Oasis Social Club is touring the North and makes a stop in Preston.
The mobile space will pop up and ask people to take part in performance, programming and debate.
Prestonians will be asked what they want to see in the Social Club, debate what Northerness is and teach one of the artists involved what a Preston accent really is.
The Social Club has already been in Stoke and also put on a keep fit show at Preston Railway Station.
Fitness clubs have also been run at Preston Bus Station with the characters of Mavis and Tracey.
The social club will be in town from Thursday from 1pm to 4pm at the railway station.
On Friday it’s at the Town Hall with a World Cafe debarting Northerness, you need to email theoasisocialclub@gmail.com to attend between 1pm to 3pm
Saturday at The Moorbrook from 2pm to 4pm is teach Rebecca the Preston accent before it moves to The Continental from 6pm to 10pm.
The social club will return in September.
The project is part of the Hit The North series from arts group They Eat Culture and is funded by the Arts Council.
