Work at Preston Railway Station is due to improve conditions for staff working there.
AdvertisementVirgin Trains has applied to upgrade the staff toilets and the behind the scenes area for crews working at the station.
A new information desk which will be disability compliant is to be fitted into the Platform 3 waiting room as well.
A statement from architects designMAD states: “The proposed works will enhance the overall station and provide much needed provision and improvement for passengers.
“Currently the areas identified are in need of renovation. The proposed renovates and brings back into use facilities that will be fully accessible by all passengers and staff using the station.
“The upgrading of the facilities can be seen as a positive step for passengers and staff and makes the experience of using the station more attractive and may have a positive impact on revenue and hence the future ability to invest in the fabric of the facility.”
