A new appointment of Janet Walker as Business Development Manager for the Guild Hall has been made, bringing her vast experience of the entertainment industry and a personal background in the entertainment field. Over the span of her career, Janet has been a former Special Event Manager for the Pontins leisure organisation and more recently, Director of Stageworks for Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

Not only is Janet a very enthusiastic person and a dynamic manager, she is also incredibly passionate about her work and likes very much to be hands-on, working with what she proudly says is “an incredibly dedicated and hard working team”.

Janet said “the Guild Hall aims to create a one-stop leisure destination within Preston, where people can be entertained, eat in great restaurants and enjoy other fabulous leisure activities that will be available in the foreseeable future. “We have plans to attract bigger names to the venue and create community ties within the organisation. “Community involvement is something we are extremely interested in and with some of the great facilities we have in the Guild Hall, this can become a wonderful reality. One of the most recent additions to the Guild Hall will be the former Burnley based Curious Minds which opens in November of this year. We are really looking forward to their contribution as a community based organisation within the complex; it’s all very exciting indeed”.

Although times have changed somewhat from those former halcyon days we all remember well, there is absolutley no reason why we cannot expect some great things to happen over the coming years and look forward to seeing the rise again of Preston’s fabulous Guild Hall.

What are your thoughts on all that is going on at the Guild Hall and the current plans? Let us know in the comments below.
