A former Costcutter shop in Ribbleton will continue to trade after its owner surrendered his licence.
AdvertisementMr Ali Soran, who took over running the shop in June, was facing a licensing hearing on Monday.
Instead of face allegations of contraband cigarettes being sold from the premises he has opted to hand back his licence allowing the sale of alcohol and cigarettes.
The shop in Ribbleton Lane, which is no longer affiliated with the Costcutter chain, faced a police investigation into its sale of tobacco.
Mr Soran is allowed to continue to sell any goods apart from alcohol and tobacco products.
He has until Wednesday 23 September to apply to have the licence reinstated.
