The bypass is to run 2km in length and leaves the A6 just north of the Broughton crossroads.

It then links in with Whittingham Lane at a roundabout before coming down to join D’urton Lane and the M55/A6 roundabout.

Lancashire County Council has bought up a swathe of land for the route.

Construction on the bypass is due to start before Christmas and it is expected to be open in Spring 2017.
