Thoughts on the #PrestonTweetup
18th, October 2010 by Joseph StashkoPreston Tweeps gathered together for the third Preston Tweetup last Tuesday at the New Continental. In association with Stage 9 Marketing and They Eat Culture, the event was a great success with around 40 attendants. I’ve put together a few notes and thoughts from the evening, what went well and what could be improved for a future meetup.

Preston Arts Council funding halves
12th, October 2010 by Joseph StashkoPreston has suffered a 50% decrease in Arts Council funding between 2008 and 2010. The figures, taken from data.gov.uk, show the amount of grants awarded between 2008/2009 and 2009/2010. The awards are then broken down into regional figures and then further into individual local authorities. Preston received £386,221 during 2008/2009 but only £180,510 during 2009/2010. Another night of comedy at 53degrees
