In pictures: the Preston Guild Torchlight Procession
The last procession of the Guild, open to everyone, took place recently. Beautifully illuminated floats,costumes, and torches lit up the city streets. This was an amazing, never-to-be-forgotten experience and attended by what looked like the entire population of Preston. Here are a couple of picture sets from Flickr to enjoy:

An array of Olympic torches and their bearers got together in Preston as part of the WE PLAY Expo celebrating the Cultural Olympiad, the London 2012 games and Preston Guild 2012 at Miller Park. What do you call a group of Olympic torches anyway? Pictures from the event here:

As part of the Preston Guild 2012 festivities the Ecumenical Service in Avenham Park returned and was a lively celebration for Christians, attended by many national representatives of Christianity.
