Preston North End season preview

Following on from English football’s nadir of the so called golden generation at the 2010 FIFA World Cup, normal service resumes this Saturday when npower Championship League football returns to Preston North End with the visit of Doncaster Rovers.
Despite the positive promise of the new season, it is worth saying that it has been a turbulent time recently at Deepdale. The clubs financial matters made the headlines back in May when the club was reported with a winding up petition from the HM Revenue and Customs. Despite that grave news however, this has not stopped manager, Darren Ferguson from making a dip into the transfer market for new blood. read article »

Birds, Bees & Black Leopards
In my last article I gave ideas as to how to create a wildlife oasis in ones very own back garden and I was pleased to hear some of the success stories but now we are reaching the time of year when a great variety of birds will abandon city life and head off to a more rural surrounding. Yes, it’s the breeding season and it’s all beginning to happen out there.
Why Preston Loves a Good Blog
There’s a new community in Preston. It isn’t in a new village, it isn’t a in a religious building, it isn’t in a school. It’s online.
184 million people had started a blog by 2008 according to media agency Universal McCann and that number is growing all the time with a new blog supposedly being created every second.
Preston is no exception. There’s a whole parallel universe Preston happening on the internet. Everyone has something to say and it’s never been easier to dispense that information to the world.
