Turn up, tune in & donate!

Two local bands join forces on Thursday 11th March to raise much needed funds for the Green Gecko Project, a charity based in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The organisation runs a school and safe haven for local street children. A place they can eat, wash, learn and play. Playing on the night are tropical popsters Coco Shackle and the brilliant Boy Del Mundo. The night starts at 7.30pm at the Ship Inn, Fylde Road Preston. Entry – Free. Donations welcome.

Dr Hoffmann aka Norbert Papp spent the first half of the new millennium building a reputation as one of the most sought after events promoters in Hungary, his renowned Techno nights pulling in crowds of over a thousand people per night. In 2005 after a series of unfortunate events he left Hungary for the UK and thought he had turned his back on the music scene for good. Two years later he rediscovered his passion for music. A radio production course at Preston FM inspired his ground breaking foray into radio with his electronic dance music show, the Blind Spot.

New York’s angriest yodelling banjo player at The Continental

“New York’s angriest yodelling banjo player”, one Curtis Eller, will be dropping in on Preston’s Continental on Thursday 4th March as part of his brief UK tour. Curtis is a dynamic solo performer with a huge cult following who sings about, amongst many other things, pigeon racing, performing elephants and John Wilkes Booth.

IgnitionUKLocal bands are to unite to raise funds for the Haiti Earthquake Appeal. Two more acts have been added to the line up which includes Ignition/UK, Baboon, The Black Vipers, Evil Blizzard and The Chaotix.
