Preston North End threw away their chance of a Carling Cup run in the last 10 minutes against Wigan Athletic, succumbing to two late Latics goals. The result is sure to pile more pressure on manager Darren Ferguson as the Lilywhites continue their poor start to the campaign.

Preston Fan wins league sponsors prize

A Preston North End fan was winner of a competition which saw her win a PNE Shirt and Ball. Supporter Lynn Noon had already purchased a ticket to watch Preston play away at Sheffield United, and was on her way to the game courtesy of the club’s free coach travel offer to Brammall  Lane.

Government cutbacks end free Preston swimming

Government cutbacks have seen an end to free swimming for children and pensioners in Preston. A decision made in June to stop funding free swimming means that as of Sunday 31st July everyone would be paying for their pool time at Preston’s Fulwood and West View Leisure Centres.

Moonlight Walk

Ladies it’s time to register for the Moonlight Walk in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice. Last year 2,580 women took part in the organised event to raise money for St Catherine’s. The half marathon walk starts at midnight on Saturday 5th June 2010, closing date for entries is 1st March 2010.
