Some months ago a pledge to examine various pubs in Preston was made here. This article follows an introductory post which sums up the rich heritage behind Preston’s drinking establishments. Modernity witnesses the country’s pub numbers drop in the face of plummeting sales. This article examines two widely contrasting pubs in Preston’s town centre.

The Continental still has a few places left on their two day ‘No Drama’ workshop, starting tomorrow. It gives 11-16 year olds the chance to create their own piece of theatre from concept to performance, with the help of an experienced performer and director, Sam Buist.

Preston North End picked up three vital points against fellow strugglers Crystal Palace, mainly thanks to Jon Parkin’s brace of goals in a thrilling encounter. Thoughts on the #PrestonTweetup

Preston Tweeps gathered together for the third Preston Tweetup last Tuesday at the New Continental. In association with Stage 9 Marketing and They Eat Culture, the event was a great success with around 40 attendants. I’ve put together a few notes and thoughts from the evening, what went well and what could be improved for a future meetup.

There was no mistaking the first student lock in event of the year, as a swarming buzz of excitement and chatter came from the bright neon lights of Topshop, livening up the quiet streets of Preston, after hours.
