Caribbean Carnival (Photos, Video)
Hundreds of people lined the streets as the Caribbean Carnival parade brought an explosion of vibrant colour and a thump of drums to Preston city centre yesterday. Brightly coloured-dressed dancers, musicians and DJs took part in a joyful parade through Deepdale, the City Centre and finally ending in Avenham Park. An Egg-cellent day in Avenham Park
The people of Preston flocked to Avenham park yesterday to join in the Easter fun, from live music to home cooked Lancashire food, there was something for everyone. Last night the Continental paid host to Thunder Road Theatre‘s ‘Your Name Here’, a showcase of theatre in the north west. The diverse range of acts competed for audience votes in a series of five minute shorts, ranging from monologues to two-handers and physical theatre to comedy. Race for Pancake Day at the Flag Market
This morning saw the Flag Market taken over by several chefs and local catering firms to compete in a pancake tasting competition judged by Paul Heathcote.
