PhotosShare a glimpse of Preston
We like to think Preston is a pretty photogenic place. The images below show just why. They come from the Preston Flickr group, run by Tony Worrall.
The group, now over 600 members strong, snaps photos of the best and the worst of the city. It captures the diversity, life and colours of Preston.

PrestFest In Pictures: Revellers, foodies and party goers come out for a celebration of Preston City Centre
From Saturday to Monday venues across the city flung open their doors and did their best to get the public in. The city centre was celebrating retaining its Purple Flag status – for having an excellent night out – and a host of restaurants, bars, pubs and clubs joined forces to entertain. Below are an assortment of pictures from the nights out, special events and [...]12 days ago by Ed Walker Share
The May calendar picture was taken on the Lancaster canal close to Ingol and Haslam Park. This is probably one of the more picturesque bridges along this stretch of canal and it’s a popular spot for joggers, dog walkers and the occasional photographer. Turner Prize winning artist Martin Creed was in Preston to address students ahead of an exhibition opening at Uclan’s Hanover project space. Martin is best known for his controversial installation ‘Work No 227, The lights going on and off’ which scooped the Turner Prize [...]31 days ago by Bernie Blackburn Share

Let’s hope this means that we are in for the warmest Summer on record too! April’s desktop wallpaper is a view across Preston Dock to the Tustin Court office building. The photograph has been given a sepia [...]56 days ago by Paul Melling Share
One of Preston’s Victorian railway bridges is being demolished and Bernie Blackburn caught these photos of the Network Rail works in action. During a walk on Saturday afternoon the Preston snapper got these stunning shots of the serious machinery employed to take out the Vicars Bridge. It’s been standing since Victorian times but its finally going to see the scrap heap, its been there since [...]63 days ago by Ed Walker Share
Here’s the latest offering in the Preston in the Picture series for March (apologies it’s a little late). It’s the fountain in Miller Park in all its glory. I’m hoping for a bit of Spring weather in the coming weeks to get out and about to find some inspiration for April’s shot. If you have any suggestions please let me know in the comments below.
