UCLan offers a variety of over 100 courses for undergraduate and postgraduate study. These include well known courses such as Business, English Literature and Politics, to specialised subjects, such as Animation, Illustration and Publishing.

This university is in the heart of Preston. Its facilities, which include a library, health centre, sports centre, accommodation, the students union and more, are all situated centrally to each other, with the longest distance across the campus being a short fifteen minute walk. Located in the centre of the campus is a students’ information centre called The ‘i’, where students can visit for advice on all subjects.

The university is designed by putting the student first, which has been shown by their investment into a £120 million building programme.

This includes features such as a £15.3 million Media Factory, the largest 3D lecture theatre in Europe, a £16 million indoor sports centre and a multi-million Olympic standard outdoor sports facility and much more.

UCLan has facilities for every type of student, and being situated in a very student-friendly and safe city, there would be no reason not to choose this university. For more information, visit the UCLan website.

As a student, an amazing nightlife is something you definitely look for when visiting a new city. Preston will certainly not disappoint. It has some of the best pubs and clubs in the North West. One of the most popular places for students is The Adelphi situated in the centre of the city with spacious seating and a heated beer garden.

Every Thursday they host a night called ‘Quids’, where a large variety of drinks are on offer for just £1, with entry at just £1 as well. You can see why in Preston, Thursday night is known as student night.

From there you can visit a line of bars such as Roper Hall and Greyfriars. This will lead you onto some of the more classic bars in Preston including The Academy and The Assembly.

Preston also has a range of very popular nightclubs. Squires and Evoque are the best places to go for a night of cheap and cheerful drinks, chart music and other specialised music from some top DJs.

For something a little more unique, and a definite favourite in the city, there is Warehouse on St Johns Place.

This club is host to three floors of indie and rock music, with the recent addition of a dubstep and hip hop floor.

Michael Sutton, who spent his student years in Preston said: “A night out in Preston never fails to deliver; there’s something for everyone here. It’s encouraging to know that UCLan offers so many high quality degree courses for people my age. There’s no shortage of opportunities in our city.”

Students, you need to visit Preston. That’s all there is to it.
