Live & Loud: Alternative nights out in Preston this February

1st, February 2012 by

Hello boys and girls. I want to say Happy New Year but I think I’m a little late. In focus: Preston’s live music scene

21st, December 2011 by

When it comes to Preston’s music scene, two words simply spring to my mind – “vibrant” and “diverse”. Preston has had a vibrant live band scene since ages ago, and now is no big different. There might be no common ground on why this is the case, some Prestonians or live music lovers however may put this down to some facts like Preston as a [...]

Not wanting to sound like the grinch but we are in the first week of December and the Christmas lights are on in town, so it’s time to stop going out and start purchasing pesky gifts or you can just carry on and say they are all in the post because you will be a fool to miss the goodies [...]

11th, November 2011 by

X Factor’s Frankie Cocozza is making an appearance in Preston at 53 Degrees’ Vodka Nationwide event this coming Thursday. Pluto, the University of Central Lancashire’s student newspaper have written a piece on it already, with [...]

Student lock in sweeps the students of Preston

9th, October 2010 by

Oh my god! It’s that time of year again, Student Lock Ins are back and better than ever with more exclusive discounts and freebies than ever before. There was no mistaking the first student lock in event of the year, as a swarming buzz of excitement and chatter came from the bright neon lights of Topshop, livening up the quiet streets of Preston, after hours.

Review: Beats of Rage @ 53 Degrees Club

26th, September 2010 by

While all the laughs and delirium were hitting the roof downstairs in the huge capacity of 53 Degrees, the upstairs club was bouncing sideways, in its roots. Sweating, skanking, filthy, grooving, raving. You name it.

Review: Stand and Deliver comedy club

25th, September 2010 by

Stand and Deliver is back with what “promises to be the most pant-wettingly funny season of autumn/winter comedy Stand and Deliver has ever seen” and before the doors of 53degrees opened last night , people were turned away from the sold out event.

Review: Complete Stone Roses @ 53 Degrees

22nd, November 2009 by

In the confines of 53 Degree’s club venue, 400 people were crammed in to witness The Complete Stone Roses. In tribute to Squire, Brown and co the band have been touring constantly for years and earning themselves a great reputation but as one witty crowd member shouted “What you gonna do when they reform?”.

A great night out in Preston

9th, September 2009 by

I was approached to write a post about Preston being the nation’s best night out for The Nation’s Best, so I asked our readers what they thought was great about Preston’s nightlife. We got some really varied responses and below is my write-up of what can only be described as a good spread of different nights out in Preston. We haven’t managed to cover everything, [...]

Roller Disco returns to Preston

1st, September 2009 by

Superfunk Roller Disco will be skating back into Preston on Saturday 19th September 2009 at 53 Degrees. It’s your chance to strap on your skates and travel back in time with some funky tunes and rather dodgy attempts at skating, apart from the pros amongst you that is.
